Rural tourism as an opportunity to strengthen communities
This year Mandela has begun to work alongside farmers and rural communities to strengthen initiatives that contribute to the development of agrotourism and gastronomic tourism in Coclé.
As part of this process, we accompany the farms in preparing spaces where visitors can learn about agroecological production, tour demonstration plots, and discover the diversity of crops that are part of local agriculture.
In addition, we promote the connection between the farms and the natural and cultural attractions of the communities, highlighting the richness of their rivers, waterfalls, landscapes, gastronomy, and traditions, as well as cultural crafts such as the painted hat.
We believe that rural tourism can become a tool to generate new economic opportunities for farm families, as long as it's developed responsibly, respecting nature, cultural identity, and the well-being of the communities.
Our purpose is to continue strengthening the capacities of farmers and promoting partnerships that contribute to positioning Coclé as a destination where agriculture, conservation, and culture complement each other to offer authentic experiences.
